Beer Alcohol Strength
Beer styles can vary by the alcohol content they have. Alcohol content has a few ways of being measured.
Drinking alcohol, in beer, wine, and spirits, is called ethanol, or ethyl alcohol. The ethanol molecule is C2H5OH.
Ethanol boils at 173 F (78 C), and it evaporates faster than water does.
Other types of alcohol are too poisonous for drinking. Methanol, another simple alcohol, destroys the human nervous system. Just 0.3 fl oz (10 mL) can cause permanent blindness, and 1-3 fl oz (30-90 mL) can cause death.
